Requirements
The FAA outlines specific criteria required to obtain a Private Pilot’s License in CFR §61.102-120
Whether you want to become a professional pilot or fly for fun, it all starts here! Private pilots are able to fly single-engine aircraft in good weather conditions. The FAA’s outlined criteria to obtain your Private certificate are:
- Age: 17 Years (16 to Fly Solo) 
- Total Flight Time: 40 Hours 
- Instruction Flight Time: 20 Hours 
- Solo Flight Time: 10 Hours 
- Third-Class FAA Medical Certificate 
- FAA Written Test 
- FAA Practical Test (Checkride)
